Jonmichael Tarleton is a NYC based actor musician. After graduating Gordon College with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, he took his first professional contract tackling the role of Andy Hobart in Neil Simon's Star Spangled Girl at Clove Creek Dinner Theater. Shortly after, he traveled to Galveston Texas with Texas Family Musicals where he spent the summer drumming for their seasonal tributes to Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly.
Jonmichael has performed all over the country at venues such as Axelrod Performing Arts Center, Southeastern Summer Theater Institute, Don't Tell Mama, The Fabulous Feinstein's/54 Below, and the historic Off-Broadway house Theater 80 St. Marks. Most recently, Jonmichael portrayed Charles Guiteau in The Secret Theater's celebrated production of Stephen Sondheim's Assassins helmed by Lauren Shields.
He has had the pleasure of working with some fabulous directors over the years including Joe Barros, Luis Salgado, Paul Stancato, Angie Kristic, and Sam DiRosa. He has been fortunate enough to have portrayed some wonderful and challenging characters on the stage including Father (Ragtime), The Professor (South Pacific), Gabriel John Utterson (Jekyll & Hyde), Beadle Bamford (Sweeney Todd).
His love of the performing arts goes well beyond acting. He is also an accomplished Musician with more than 10 years of experience as a percussionist, guitarist, and pianist. He has played in jazz quartets, rock bands, funk ensembles, swing bands, folks groups, and musical pits. His personal favorite instrument is drum kit. He believes that there is not a stress in the world that can't be relieved by a good practice session on drums.
When he isn't performing he is probably watching "The Office". He is an avid fan of the show, and would gladly have anyone test his knowledge!
